How to Stack Bracelets So They Don't Slide, Clash or Scratch

A good bracelet stack has variety in width but consistency in tone. Three pieces is the sweet spot: one rigid, one flexible, one delicate.

The build

  • The bangle: rigid, holds the stack in place.
  • The chain: movement and shine, sits closest to the hand.
  • The fine one: a thin cuff or beaded bracelet to soften the edge.

Stop the sliding

Bracelets slide because they are all the same diameter. Size the bangle slightly smaller so it sits higher on the wrist, and let the chain fall loose below it.

Protecting a watch

Never put a hard bangle directly against a watch case. Place a fabric or beaded bracelet in between, or wear the stack on the opposite wrist.

Comfort test

You should be able to type for ten minutes without adjusting anything. If not, remove the widest piece.
